Thatcher is such a fun age right now. As he turned 18 months, I started seeing a little boy and not my little baby anymore! I am so afraid that I am going to forget all of his little intricacies, so I thought I would put them in writing. This blog is my only documentation of our life. I'm sure I will ramble, but I just love him.
Our little Thatcher is a delicate little guy. He is very sensitive, timid around anyone new, loves routines, and does not appreciate change.
He goes everywhere with 2 cars in his hands. His favorite is the plastic pull-back Macqueen that is only found at Disney World. (Not the most convenient).
He operates the iPad better than a lot of adults.
He uses Boley's old iPod touch, which is referred to as "Thatcher's iPod".
He loves the movie Cars, and recently has ventured into Cars 2, Despicable Me, and Toy Story. He fast forwards any scene where people are fighting/arguing because it scares him.
He also loves Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is right up there with Cars. He does the "Hotdog Dance" at the end of every show. I need to get it on video.
Dance Parties are a daily occurrence. (I need to thank Auntie Boo for that). He does the "Happy Feet" dance, and his most favorite song is "Walking on Sunshine." We dance to it ALOT.
He will always pick to wear his bright yellow crocs.
He walks around a lot "talking" on the phone. His "phone" can be his iPod, the remote, the house phone, and of course Pop's phone.
He LOVES being outside.
We log a lot of time outside at my parents house playing in his car and chasing the dogs. He thinks Mama Rox and Pops are the coolest.
He made an "office" at my parents house in one of their cupboards. He has his phone, books, cheezits, some spices, poker chips, cards and of course the almond extract. Lately he has been expanding his office to other cabinets as well. He loves to organize everything and put things in a line. He fake pours the almond extract on EVERYTHING.
He chugs his milk and "cheers" everyone at the table.
His favorite things to eat are cheez-its, apples, bagels, eggs and smoothies.
He gets so excited to go to the grocery store because he eats an apple in the cart as we go through the store. He eats the whole apple, even some of the core.
We read a lot of books before bed, most of which are Sandra Boynton books if Thatcher is picking.
Every night he sleeps with Lightning Macqueen and one other car in each hand, Mickey Mouse under his arm, and MY favorite pillow.
He has a bedtime routine every night where he puts his two cars and Mickey on his chair, we brush teeth and then he runs back in to his room and checks the water in the humidifier, says good night to his bear and dinosaur, turns on his turtle night light to blue, turns on the heater/fan, runs to his chair to then put his cars and Mickey in the crib, throws his pillow in bed, gives hugs and kisses and promptly nose-dives onto his pillow. It is adorable.
To stall at bedtime, he starts doing the "Teddy bear, Teddy bear" song. He also does it to show off.
He still doesn't say any words, but he is a very effective communicator.
He is really gentle with Lu and is constantly giving her hugs and kisses. He also loves to hold her hand.
My favorite part of my day is coming home from work as he runs up to give the biggest hug.

Thanks for the update. We do miss you all
